A Casual Business Casual

If you haven’t caught the news on Instagram, I’ve taken over the #lifeatkohls Instagram! I was super excited that I got to do it this week too because today is our districts “Take it Back” session in Houston! All the Assistant Managers are here to talk about… well, taking it forward!

Business casual is our daily dress code in the stores but for the conference we were given a jean pass! These days, the term business casual is getting more and more skewed and unfortunately, business casual does not include jeans. Although some may argue, a few other things that do not fall under the “business casual” realm are:

  • Hemlines higher than the knee
  • Low cut tops
  • Sleeveless tops
  • Thong sandals
  • Tennis shoes
  • Graphic tees

It’s always better to be safe than sorry. You’ll never lose points for being overdressed! A few things that you can never go wrong with:

  • Boot cut black slacks
  • Long sleeved chiffon blouse
  • Tailored blazer/suit separates
  • Ballet flats

Having said allll that, never ever sacrifice yourself or your style! There’s always a way to put your flair in to a business casual look and that is how you will be remembered!

Who’s got an interview coming up? Share your outfit with me! Here’s my look for the session today. I’m in head to ankle Kohl’s! Everything’s linked below and my entire outfit is under $70 (minus the purse)!!
